Five for Friday!

For the first time, I'm linking up with Kacey from Doodle Bugs for her

Five for Friday is 5 random things from this week.

1.  I started my new job!  I'm doing resource for K students.  I'm sharing a classroom with the other 1st grade SPED resource teacher.  So we're doing some things separate and some things together with our students.  We're kinda figuring it out as we go.  The only real downfall is that the room is pretty cluttered and disorganized.  I'm trying to feel things out, but the disorganization is making me feel very anxious!

2.  I love being able to walk to the beach after work!  It's so relaxing and makes any stress disappear.  We take our dog with us, and she chases the ball up and down the beach.  Who can't feel happy watching this?

3.  I have fallen in love with Kristen Hannah books.  I just finished Magic Hour this week.  I'm heading back to the library (the base library has a great selection here) tomorrow to stock up on more books!  These are the books I've read by her so far.

4.  The aide I work with gave me a local grapefruit (I think it has a Hawaiian name but not sure).  It's HUGE!  I can't wait to cut it open tomorrow and see what it tastes like!  Please do not look at the hideous furniture in the background!  We are living with temporary furniture since our household goods are STILL not here!

5.  We may not have our household goods yet, but our car arrived this week!!!  Yay!!!!  I was so excited!  We had to rent a car for almost a month straight.  You can imagine how quick that added up!  :/  Life is much better now that we have our car that the whole family can fit in.

  1. I **LOVE** the book Firefly!!! It's a great book about a great friendship and all that THAT entails!
Can't believe your furniture has yet to arrive. That has got to be frustrating!

Love to see the beautiful scenery that you now call home.

  2. Ah the joys of military issued furniture! I so know how that goes. Hang in there! You're household goods will get there and then the joys of unpacking begins. Ugh. ;)

    1. I'll be so happy when our stuff gets here but have NO idea where I'll put it all! The houses are much smaller here. I think we're going to have to get a storage unit, at least until we get into base housing. :/ Living in paradise makes it all worthwhile though!

  5. I LOVE Kristin Hannah, too! Congrats on your new job, and good luck organizing. I know when I switched grade levels I had to weed through a holy TON of someone else's crap! LOL. It just takes time to get things they way you like them. Take care.

    1. I just got another book of hers from the library. I can't wait to start it. The only problem is I usually cry through every book!

  6. The big giant fruit is called a "jabong". Born and raised in Hawaii and I never tried it before. How was it?

Love walking to the beach too after work. My favorite is running along the beach. It's my favorite thing to do after work. Looking for a twin jogging stroller, but for now, I only have my BOB single stroller and I take one keiki at a time while my husband watches the other one. As the days get longer again closer to summer, I look forward to swimming and paddling after work again. The ocean is the medicine for my soul.

    1. Thanks for telling me what the fruit is called. It was good. It tasted just like a grapefruit, but maybe a little more sour.

I agree. The beach is medicine for my soul. I'm hoping to park myself tomorrow (stay way rain!) and read.

  7. I'm a little jealous that you live in Hawaii. My husband's parents live on Kauai and I love visiting them. They call the giant grapefruits, pomellos. I have one sitting in my kitchen right now waiting to be eaten. Enjoy your time at the beach. I cant wait until April when I get to do the same.
